CWU is specialized and at its strength in the disciplines of social work, preschool education, and women’s studies. In addition, the disciplines of finance, accounting, human resources, tourism management, international mandarin teaching, computer science and English are also among the most favorite subjects in CWU.
CWU is also winning its reputation as the forefront of theoretical research on preschool education, women’s higher education, women’s leadership developing, women studies, women development, and combating violence against women, etc.
Among them, the discipline of women’s studies is a national-level special discipline authorized by the Ministry of Education due to its great influence and distinguishing features. It is also the earliest institute who established a national women’s higher education research center, a university who operates graduate-level training course for teachers of women’s studies, and the one who runs a library of women’s studies and a website of gender issues.
