NGOA Leaders Visit CWU
On November 3, Ma Ben, director of the National Government Offices Administration (NGOA) visited China Women’s University (CWU), and attended a research meeting presided over by Li Mingshun, Chairperson of the CWU Council.
Attendees also included Zhang Yuhang, deputy director of the NGOA; Pan Yong, director of the Infrastructure Department; Yang Baijun, director of the Housing Authority; and, Office Director Yu Kehao. CWU President Liu Liqun and Vice-president Wang Jingxia also participated in the event.
On behalf of the university, Li warmly welcomed the NGOA leaders, and expressed his gratitude for their help and support. Li emphasized that NGOA has lead by example in terms of its adherence to the “Three Representatives” principle. As a superior administrative unit, NGOA has visited and studied many grassroots departments, and actively solved bottlenecks that restricted development. Its pragmatic work style was worth learning, Li added.
Liu gave a speech reporting on the university’s basic situation, its related working progress, and its existing problems and difficulties. She said that CWU has a long history and enormous responsibility. It also has distinct characteristics, albeit on its small scale. With the help of the competent departments, CWU has accumulated rich educational experience year after year, and promoted the construction of its infrastructure. At the same time, it has gradually developed a mature internal control system as a test unit.
Now, the university has grasped the opportunity to transform China from a large country in higher education into an influential one. Riding the main trends of the recent UN-organized Global Leaders’ Meeting on Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment, the university would fully implement the CPC Central Committee’s arrangement on strengthening the Party’s work, play an active role in promoting gender studies, and strive to fulfill the goals of the “Four Centers” strategy, said Liu.
Liu also mentioned that the university faces several difficulties in development, including problems on the construction of practical training building, the improvement of staff member’s living conditions, and the reform of charging for heating costs. She thanked the NGOA again for guiding and promoting the university’s development during the implementation of the deepening higher education reform. Liu hoped that the NGOA could continue to support and help the university’s development, and confirmed that the CWU would conscientiously fulfill the relevant instructions and requirements of the NGOA.
Ma added that the NGOA would fully support the university’s development. The NGOA is a department of security for services, and aims to solve the difficulties of the national government departments. The visit aimed to investigate the university’s needs and problems, he explained. The university’s difficulties are new conditions in the process of comprehensively deepening reform. The NGOA would strive to solve these problems and improve the university’s condition step-by-step, Ma said.
Ma hoped that the CWU could plan ahead, prepare well, make good use of the national policy, and obey the government’s arrangement. He also asked the NGOA to continue to follow up on the relevant problems afterward, set priorities and solve them within the scope of the policies.
Pan and Yang communicated with CWU’s leaders on several concrete problems. Directors from the Logistics Management Office, State-Owned Property Department, the Disciplinary Committee Office, Finance Department, and other functional departments also attended the meeting.
